The Bowser Family History

Welcome to my “Bowser” website.

If you have reached this site then your probably here for one of three reasons:

  1. You have the surname “Bowser” and you just thought you'd Google your name to see what comes up.

  2. The name “Bowser” holds significant relevance to your family history.

  3. The name “Bowser” holds significant relevance to the history of your local community.

If on the other hand you are looking for information on water containers or a certain monster from a well known video game then I’m sorry you’ve come to the wrong place.

So here’s my story:

I would firstly like to introduce myself. My name is Jez and I have a family tree, a rather large family tree which is full of Bowsers.  For those of you who have been researching your family history and for some reason or other have ended up here then you will, I’m sure be familiar with the frustration of hitting a dead end.  Now I’m not talking about a minor dead end when you go for weeks or even months without a breakthrough I’m talking major.

My story starts many years ago, back in the early eighties, my grandfather and his brother set out on a quest…… to trace the family history and with a bit of luck end up with some sort of decent looking tree for their efforts….. little did they know what they were getting themselves (or me for that matter) into.  Fortunately within our local history the name Bowser plays a rather large role so there was an abundance of information.  Over the years my grandfather, his brother and later on my uncles all played their part in tracing the story of our ancestors.  When I took over the project most of the groundwork had already been covered  I merely threw it all together into a meaningful format as well as filling in some of the blanks (thanks to a couple of very helpful Bowsers who came across my other website and exchanged tree’s with me).  But I am now at a dead end, I haven’t added any names for a while so I decided to setup this website to attract some interest and hopefully find someone who recognises a part of the tree (as I’m sure many of you will) and who might be able to add to it.

Over the years I have also gathered quite a large amount of information which has until now just been sitting in a couple of (bulging) folders on my top shelf.  I’m sure this info would probably be of some use to someone else out there so I have taken the liberty of adding it to the “Resources” page.

So all that remains is for you to take a look at the tree and if you recognise any of it and can add to it or think it might tie in with your own tree then please email me.

Please note, I have uploaded the tree as three Jpeg files.  The full size image is quite a large file so please be patient (I wanted to retain as much of the quality as possible) you’ll probably have to do a lot of vertical & horizontal scrolling but unfortunately this cannot be avoided if you want to see the full detail. Also, please ignore the different colours.

Thanks for visiting my site.
Have fun ! and please feel free to sign my Guest Book
