The History of Burry Port & Pembrey

Burry Port is a small picturesque town situated on the south-west coast of Wales. This site aims to give both local residents and visitors to the town an insight into the history of Burry Port and Pembrey.

Burry Port is probably best known for the 1928 transatlantic flight by Amelia Earhart. Being the first woman ever to fly across the  Atlantic, she  landed at Burry Port on June 18th in the seaplane "Friendship".
